Experience

After a PhD in Finance from MIT Sloan as a Fulbright Scholar, he joined Wharton in 2007 and was tenured in 2013 shortly before moving to LBS.

Alex serves on the Steering Group of The Purposeful Company, which proposes policy reforms to encourage companies to pursue long-run purpose over short-run profit, on Royal London Asset Management’s Responsible Investment Advisory Committee, and as Mercers’ School Memorial Professor of Business at Gresham College where he gave a lecture series on “How Business Can Better Serve Society”. His book “Grow the Pie: How Great Companies Deliver Both Purpose and Profit” will be published by Cambridge University Press in early 2020.

Experience

Paul is a former director of McKinsey & Company, where he worked for 27 years across a wide range of industries. Paul was head of McKinsey’s UK insurance practice and a global leader of the firm’s financial institutions practice. He served leading financial institutions in the US, Japan, Continental Europe and Scandinavia.

Paul also led the firm’s work in corporate governance, working with publicly quoted and private companies on board effectiveness and corporate strategy.

More recently, he served as a specialist adviser to the BEIS Select Committee Inquiry on corporate governance. He is a member of the Financial Reporting Council’s Stakeholder Advisory Panel.

Experience

Clare is Executive Director of the Centre for Corporate Governance. She is a former business and current affairs journalist for CNN International. She worked across the network’s news programmes, covering politics, economic policy, foreign policy, global stock markets, companies, breaking news and corporate social responsibility issues. In her last role at CNN, she primarily worked on two business shows anchored from the New York Stock Exchange.

Clare was previously an Associate Director, Communications & Branding for UBS Asset Management. At UBS Clare focused on global external communications strategy across proactive and reactive media on topics including sustainable investment, investor stewardship, corporate engagement on climate change issues, China and emerging markets.

Experience

Tom Gosling is an Executive Fellow at LBS where he contributes to the evidence-based practice of responsible business by connecting academic research, public policy, and corporate action. He works with the Centre for Corporate Governance and the Leadership Institute at LBS. Tom is also a member of the Steering Committee of The Purposeful Company, a think tank devoted to identifying ways in which the UK corporate governance environment can be developed to support companies that create profit through fulfilling a purpose that benefits society.

Tom has 20+ years of experience as a board adviser and is a leading independent authority on corporate governance and responsible business. Most recently he was a senior Partner at PwC where he established and led the firm’s executive pay practice, advising FTSE-100 and equivalent private and European companies on corporate governance and executive pay.

Giá máy bắn cáTom engages extensively with regulators such as BEIS, the FRC and the FCA on remuneration, corporate governance and stewardship policy matters and has given evidence to the BEIS Select Committee and the Parliamentary Commission on Banking Standards. He is a regular commentator in print, broadcast, and social media. Tom has a PhD in Applied Mathematics and is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries.
